A picture is worth a thousand words... BUT...
An out of place plaice
had a sneer on his face
as he swam through the murky deeps
Though his spelling, I fear,
was the worst in his year,
still his spots made him oddly unique-
for he used them to count
to ginormous amounts,
and became a mathematical freak!
For Tess and Steven Kelly at The Mag
And here I apologise to any visiting Mag addicts, for I've just managed to enter myself a second time on the link list, after adding the rhyme to my original wordless wonder, idiot that I am! These senior moments are the very pits...
nice one.....thanks for sharing tjhis
ReplyDeleteNow if you had picture of the same fish playing football you could caption it . . .(Oh, never mind . . )
ReplyDeleteThere has been a 'fishy' response to this prompt from more than one person.
ReplyDeleteLOVED this! I had to look up plaice...we catch lots (LOTS? well, used to be...now it's SOME) of Flounder in bays, all around Naples FL. Prob one of the BEST-tasting fish around--next to SNOOK!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting!
OH yeah...you put this together with thought and care. Nicely done. I'll never from now on, get my plaices mixed up.
ReplyDeleteWhichever way one spells it, as long as it tastes good, why not! Chuckles! The wit around it as always Cad! Great!
ReplyDeleteHank
Love this fishy limerick ....
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking Don Knotts...with spots...
ReplyDeleteThis is the place to expect to find plaice, remembering your penchant for fishing... :)
ReplyDeleteWould his name happen to be Graham?
ReplyDeleteBe gentle to yourself, you are witty, great!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! :o)
ReplyDeleteOh this was creative and fun..thanks for sharing..
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my space ..thought I'd stop by and visit your place ..plaice :-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the creative touch.
Tell me Cad why exactly does Ada look like a battle axe?
ReplyDeleteI have never seen her with a smile on her face!
Cad's too loyal. He'd never tell you why she looks like a battleaxe. But I will. I can risk it because I live far from Abergele. It's because she IS a battleaxe. One glance from Ada can cleave a man vertically into two pieces at ten paces.
ReplyDeleteSo you know her then?
ReplyDeleteBlogger has blown his top on my behalf, I think. He's not let me tell you that I Caddoc, am the only one who really knows Ada - never mind odd acquaintances like Doctor FTSE - but three attempts to include a link, as proof, have failed to hit the screen...
DeleteI shall retire to my shed, in disgust...
Try again! HERE
ReplyDeleteJust a note to prove your email is OK, Cad. Haven't heard from you in ages.
ReplyDeleteCad is obviously a persona non grata at the moment!
ReplyDeleteRhyme and rhythm are music to my soul. I enjoyed this immensely.
ReplyDeleteGoodness me - you have been on a long journey, to end up here! LOL
DeleteIf you enjoy rhythm and rhyme, there are plenty of both to be found, should you decide to scroll back through time, on this blog or A trellis Truce. .
Good to see you here today. :-)
