On a day when there isn't much work to be done
I like to go off and just sit in the sun.
With my rod and my line I can have a good time
fishing....
A trusty sombrero I clamp on my head -
or sometimes, I wear a fedora, instead
while I sit in the cool by a riverside pool,
fishing...
As for catching a fish...I don't have much luck -
though one time I did nearly hook me a duck-
but there by the stream I can certainly dream...
wishing...
Posted for Mag 102, thanks to Tess and Kandinsky, and linked to IGWRT Open Link Monday, and HERE at Wordgathering, for my Sense of Place offereing.
It's surprising what the discerning eye can see in Kandinsky's picture. Well spotted. Well versed.
ReplyDeleteIf Ada called me discerning that WOULD be something! Thanks, Doc for boosting my morale.
DeleteEnjoyed this - The picture is unfolding nicely but I nothing is sparkign my imagination this week.
ReplyDeleteWhat a keen eye you must have - never saw the rod and sombrero! Thanks for making me smile!
ReplyDeleteAnna :o]
A creative and wity take on the prompt... ducks beware! = )
ReplyDeleteAh, I see you there fishing. And, that's also my favorite part of fishing, NOT catching anything but peacefully day dreaming :o)
ReplyDeleteI started with a fishing one too! Great, thanks!
DeleteI love your interpretation of Kandinsky's painting. How wonderful when the viewer sees himself in the work of art.
ReplyDeleteMadam, are we not ALL one of those? :)
Deletecan't we just go fishing today?
ReplyDeletenice...i like how you focused on that one are of the painting...a little cold for fishing on my end right now but come spring you will find me on a bank
DeleteTo pick an obviousness portion of the picture and turn it into life is great.
ReplyDeleteoooo, I so love this.
ReplyDeleteReally nice job, love the rhyme, the hook line there at the end of each stanza, light and enjoyable. Thanks
ReplyDeleteYou’ve managed to pull something peaceful and calming from the chaos. I like the ‘flow’ - you had me hooked!
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh.
ReplyDeleteLoved this.
=)
I loved this, it was so much fun to read. I put my toes in the water as I read this and I could actually feel the water and the little fish dancing around my toes. Blessings!

ReplyDeleteLike the fishing and wishing angle!
ReplyDeleteThe best part of fishing is not catching!
ReplyDeleteEspecially a cold, on a bad day! LOL
DeleteOh, wow! This is so clever! I never even saw that fishing pole.
ReplyDeleteGuess I've got funny eyeballs! :)
DeleteGet's you out of Ada's clutched for a while, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI like your focus on that picture...and fishing and dreaming go hand in hand ~
ReplyDeletewhile I sit in the cool by a riverside pool... very clever idea here!
ReplyDeletewith such a rod, the catch might be inedible
