Light Versus Dark

Black anger,
slashed across the page-
no finesse
or planning
but emotion’s overspill
of dark energy-
bites my soul,
makes me turn away
to cower,
shield myself
with light to defeat the wrath
of primal forces.
Powerful
radiance grows bright,
spreading out,
increasing,
defeating the darkness with
illumination.

Studying the image by Franz Kline which Tess used in this week's Mag 127,  made me feel uneasy. I found it painful, even! No accounting for how imagination works...

  6. Caddoc - this almost makes me relieved that you don't get angry - well, not a lot, and not often. It's a nasty affliction...

  7. That's it - you hit the nail on the head - disturbing. I couldn't put my finger on it and you've done it for me. Thank you!

  8. Cad,

A very pleasant movement between moods and emotions. A superb connection with the image by Franz Kline.

  9. Hi Cad. You expressed your anxiety wrought by this image very clearly. Oddly enough, though, I didn't participate with this image this week, when I saw it, I immediately saw infinity. The idea of forever is very alluring but like your post, must have its dark side.
