and sometimes I just sits...and sometimes, I wander Blogland and learn odd things...like on THIS POST (click to read it for yourself) where I found a challenge I couldn't resist. So here is my very first attempt at a Rondolet.
When love grows cold
don't mourn its passing, but reflect,
when love grows cold,
a different story may be told.
Let Cupid's arrow not deflect!
View not its piercings with regret
when love grows cold.
love the imperative! let cupid's arrow not deflect! dammit!
ReplyDeleteYour first two lines have set up an interesting chain of thought.. Why do we feel the loss of love so deeply? Better to have no regrets over emotions grown cold.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your work with those at Real Toads.
Caddoc! Skiving again? What are you doing writing obscure poetic forms, when all the time I thought you were out digging up potatoes, or picking plums? And I want to ride In Tandem with you this week, my lad - don't you forget it...
ReplyDeleteLord Byron would love this!
ReplyDeleteAs that follows on from my comment, Doctor FTSE, are you implying Lord Byron would like to ride Tandem with me? Spooky, if so...I don't think he'd have much pedal power these days...
ReplyDeleteAda, go away! I know what you want, my girl...
ReplyDeleteYou have no idea how excellent I find this piece. I got the feeling Cad that it rolled right off your tongue.
